So What’s all this Praying for the Women on Death Row Really About?

Picture

In February of 2013, I was diagnosed with Metastatic stage 4 breast cancer.  Any one who knows anything about Cancer knows that stage 4 is the last and final stage. When you have stage 4 cancer it is the most advanced stage of Cancer there is.  In fact, I was diagnosed on my birthday and the devil laughed at me as I made my wait back home after hearing the doctor’s decree. When the doctor shared the diagnosis his next question was who in the family do you want me to tell?  I refused to have– that– to think about and I flatly told him that there was none in my family that i wanted to disclose this information to— I left mad at myself;  I was mad because all the long God had been speaking to me., first in a dream and then in pain.  He even sent a stranger to ask me whether or not I had cancer.  The dream was startling and I actually went to my Pastor for clarity and  ended up getting a reprimand. Why was it that I am dreaming that I have cancer? What kind of devilish dream is that! There it was— I was placed on death row !

What do you do when you are on death row?  Where do you turn?  Who do you call on?  For me, from the very moment I heard this confirmed, I heard the voice of the Holy Spirit and If I never listened to Him before, I could never ever lose direction again –not ever.  His voice is the most important voice that anyone would ever want to hear and when you hear it you must ALWAYS follow  His leading.   I had ignored the dream, rebuked the stranger, my pastor didn’t have the insight and what was I to do? Know this and never forget it– your trials, your tribulations and your troubles elevate you. It is the three “T”‘s that are taking you somewhere–to your deliverance, to  your healing,  to your anointing,  to your breakthrough,  and to your next level;  no pain –no gain. There is never ever a new level without trouble. What are we to do? The bible says in Romans’ 12 v 12 –Be rejoicing in your hope. Bear your afflictions bravely. Be persistent in prayer. And yes, the bible gives many versions to this very powerful word.

But I had to do something more— I was hearing but I was not receiving. We must receive. My faith needed to be built up. My Church helped me in that area—every time the prayer warrior pastors called me, they encouraged me . They stood on the promises that God would be faithful to heal me and that I must cast all my cares on Him. . Do you know what casting ALL YOUR CARES ON HIM MEANS? It means totally trusting in Him.  It means total reliance;  It means not looking to the left or to the right but resting in Him, His word, and in His divine intervention. But it also means to CONFESS healing scriptures daily, relentlessly and to cast down all negative thoughts and I don’t care if the doctor is diagnosing. Let every man be a liar and God be true.

God is so amazing, God is so full of promises and they are always all yes and amen. The bible says God is not a man that He would lie. Numbers 23 v 19 CSB  says God is not a man who lies, or a son of man who changes His mind. Does He speak and not act, or promise and not fulfill?  Well, we are a year and some months from the time that I have been diagnosed and  my recent Cat Scan and Bone Scan show no evidence of Cancer.  Now God is to be GLORIFIED! He is to be praised in the congregation of men.

What an awesome testimony.  God is a MIRACLE WORKING GOD and as I live to glorify his name  and tell others of his greatness, I want to tell you that He took me off of a spiritual death row. He took me off so that I would pray for those on women who are on a physical death row.  What have I learned in the process is that God’s ways are not our ways nor are His thoughts our thoughts — He is no respecter of persons.  Psalm 50 v 15 says  NiV  ” And call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me.”  I am here to testify that after God brings you out like He brought out Mary Magdalene with those seven demons and the women by the well with those six husbands. He will bring you out of your mess so that you will serve him, honor him and praise him all your days and you will finally know that there is nothing or no one that deserves your attention more than God, no one more important, or more valuable than your relationship with Him.

So if you are wondering why I am praying for the women on death row. I do so because I answered the call of Him when He whispered. I heard him when He spoke and because He is a prayer answering God, i surrender my life to Him.

I Loved that I shared His goodness and His mercy,

Brandy Holmes is a women on Louisiana’s death row for the 2003 killing of a minister.  In the letter she wrote to me she  prayed that I am surrounded within the wings of angels.  Psalms 91:Verse 11 says- For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. Brandy says she writes for Pastor  Beth’s Moore’s Newsletter. She is praying to get her death sentence reduced to a life sentence. Please help fund her account with a few dollars so she can purchase envelopes, stamps and pad paper as she has no family concerned about her well being.

In the Bible we read about the Jabaz a son birthed to a woman. She names him “pain”  after conceiving him in pain. He is a man with a pitiful past and no hope for a future. He is a man who struggles to find meaning and significance in life. He is a man who is desperate to be accepted by his fellow man. But most of all, he is a man who craves a relationship with God. Brandy like Jabaz, was named by a mother who loved to drink Brandy. Her mother an alcoholic conceived Brandy in sickness. Brandy was born with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and her mother was proud to name her Brandy and thus she became a woman with a pitiful past..

In the Bible, we find The Prayer of Jabez 1 Chronicles 4 v 9-10
9 Jabez was more honorable than his brothers, and his mother named him Jabez saying, “Because I bore him with pain.” 10 Now Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, “Oh that You would bless me indeed and enlarge my border, and that Your hand might be with me, and that You would keep me from harm that it may not pain me!” And God granted him what he requested.  Lets pray for Brandy that the hand of the Lord might be with her and that He will keep her from harm. Let’s pray for God to bless her and have mercy on her soul. She has confessed being a Christian and we are  praying for a reversal of  every curse on her life. Thee God of redemption can and will make her a blessing. He is the God of breakthroughs.

On my facebook page you will see The Assumption of the Virgin by Francesco Botticini from he National Gallery London, which shows three hierarchies and nine orders of angels, each with different characteristics. I am asking the Lord to dispatch  ministering angels to address every situation concerning Brandy.

I am decreeing  Acts 5:19 – But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them forth, and said… and the angel of the Lord will say concerning Brandy, that he is the God of second chances and if she comes to Him repenting and believing that he will surely address her case. I am telling the devil to take your hands off of Brandy Holmes, she has claimed Christ as her Lord and Savior. She has been redeemed. And the Lord says in  Matthew 4:11 – Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him. Lord please send your angels to minister to Brandy because we at Praying Without Ceasing and others who are reading this blog will not cease to cry out against injustices. Yes, it is wrong to murder, but it is also wrong to murder to prove that murdering is wrong. Lord, I am praying Psalms 34:7  Lord, let —- The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

Colossians 1:16 says16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: Heavenly father we are asking you to send angels from the throne realm as  hey are living symbols of your justice and authority. According to the New Testament, these high celestial beings are among those Orders at  the service of Chris, since t Thrones are known in scripture as the bringers of justice Lord we are Asking, Seeking and Knocking on behalf of Brandy Holmes on Louisiana’s death row. Lord visit her and let her know all is well.

Stitched Panorama
Two men were crucified at the same time as Jesus, one on his right hand and one on his left. Luke 23: 39-43 gives us this account: 39 One of the criminals who were hanged there was hurling abuse at Him, saying, “Are You not the Christ? Save Yourself and us!” 40 But the other answered, and rebuking him said, “Do you not even fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? 41 “And we indeed are suffering justly, for we are receiving what we deserve for our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.” 42 And he was saying, “Jesus, remember me when You come in Your kingdom!” 43 And He said to him, “Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise.”

black-divider-hi
This narrative is very touching, even as Jesus Christ is suffering the excruciating and torturous pain of being nailed to the cross and mocked; He saves! He still hears the passionate pleas of a criminal and shows His love and compassion for him. Jesus was not concerned about the crime the criminal committed, He didn’t ask him what He stole or whether He killed anyone, but He told the rogue that he would be with Him in paradise and on the very day he promised Him heaven. divider_scroll
Imagine, we as Christians have a smug attitude toward criminals. It’s called self-righteousness; If it were up to us all criminals would be denied access to heaven. As an intercessor for women on death row, many people ask me about the crimes the women committed and I remind them that my assignment is only to pray. I wonder why it is important to know what someone did since Jesus never required it? The repentance of the thief on the cross is a fantabulous story; it shows us that conversions can happen at the end of one’s life; that even the vilest criminals will be accepted by God if they come to Him; that no more than a request for salvation made in faith is required by God.

black-divider-hi

What we learn from the saved thief on the cross is that we are all sinners standing in need of a Savior, and no matter the number of our sins and no matter if we, or the world, think our sins are trivial or extreme, all sin is sin and it is never too late to repent because the gift of salvation is Free. (Ephesians 2:8-9; Revelation 22:17)

“As it is written, I have made you a father of many nations in the presence of Him whom He believed-God, who gives life to the dead, and calls those things which do not exist as though they did” (Romans 4:17).

Today, I began to pray for Darlie as I normally do  and then the Lord led me to a correspondence from 2012 and yes, I realize that we are in 2014 but the Bible In Habbakah 2 1-3″I will stand on my guard post And station myself on the rampart; And I will keep watch to see what He will speak to me, And how I may reply when I am reproved. 2Then the LORD answered me and said, “Record the vision And inscribe it on tablets, That the one who reads it may run. 3“For the vision is yet for the appointed time; It hastens toward the goal and it will not fail. Though it tarries, wait for it; For it will certainly come, it will not delay.”  The Lord directs us to write what it is we are seeking so that whomever sees it would be affected enough to run with it as well…He clearly says that the vision is for set time and though you may have to wait for it… It will surely come.

The article I shared was a 2012 article that revealed how the forensic  experts did not agree with the state and that a review was to happen on a state level that would result in a review on the federal level. I realize that we are in 2014, but so what! this matter takes time. God says ‘For a thousand years in your sight are like a day that has just gone by,  and if we want results we need be on our knees for what we are battling for. and we  must continue to call those things which do not exist as though they did! I was surprised, when someone told me the article was dated, no news is good news in my discerning spirit. Besides, no information is going to be released by any credible lawyer –to have people conjecturing about outcomes based on their own limited nonfactual personal opinions and thoughts. God is the righteous judge. He is the lawgiver. Darlie Lynn Routier will be exonerated.

unjust judge

The Unjust Judge by Eugene Burnand-  Swiss Artist(1850-1921)

There is a  Parable that Jesus shares that aligns so much with the death row experiences of Darlie Lynn; although Darlie is not a widow, I want you to read it and as you read it consider her dilemma.  Jesus uses the Parable of the Persistent Widow

” 1And he told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart. 2He said, “In a certain city there was a judge who neither feared God nor respected man. 3And there was a widow in that city who kept coming to him and saying, ‘Give me justice against my adversary.’ 4For a while he refused, but afterward he said to himself, ‘Though I neither fear God nor respect man, 5yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will give her justice, so that she will not beat me down by her continual coming.’” 6And the Lord said, “Hear what the unrighteous judge says. 7And will not God give justice to his elect, who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long over them? 8I tell you, he will give justice to them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”

First of all Jesus is tell this parable to teach His disciples that they should ALWAYS pray and not FAINT! In this version, they are told not to lose heart and He gives the story of  woman who wanted justice against her adversary. Imagine the judge kept on refusing to rectify the injustice but that did not deter the woman! Know  Hebrews 11 v 6 says “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Regardless of how the unrighteous judge responded, the woman had an indefatigable spirit. She was tenacious and relentless; Her faith never swaggered and  finally the unrighteous Judge gave the woman justice she deserved.

Jesus is looking for faith. Without faith it is impossible to please God. Without faith we can not achieve anything at all. Darlie Lynn has Faith in God’s ability to set her free and I align my faith with hers as a prayer warrior, to pray for her,  her mother and for the health of her son Drake. I will also embrace as she does every other women on death row. She will receive justice! We are calling all those things that do not exist as though they exist. In my mind Darlie Lynn Routier has been set free, Jesus is the author and finisher of her faith and the bishop of her soul. He is the righteous judge and she is His righteousness.

Lisa Ann Coleman Held Captive

lisa-coleman-2

Lisa Ann Coleman 38, has been on Texas death row in Gatesville since June 2006.  She was convicted in the starvation death of a 9-year-old boy a decade ago. In April of 2014, her execution date was set for September 17, 2014. Lisa Ann Coleman has written me several letters from her death row cell in Gatesville, . She expressed to me that her brother was murdered, her own son is imprisoned and her mother is suffering from many infirmities. Time is drawing near to Lisa’s execution date but she still remains hopeful, despite this verdict, she believes that her life is “in His hands,” and has began to pray and call on Jesus Christ. Lisa’s life is a “novel”, according to her she was a product of incest, neglected by her mother, bounced through the foster care system and raped multiple times by an uncle. In an on-line  interview, her mother said that Lisa chose the wrong friends.  The truth was that Lisa didn’t have a chance, she was sexually abused and tormented as a child; she too was victimized by child abuse had under gone periods of time with out eating while she was young. As a child, Lisa was nicknamed “Pig” and this resulted in her being harassed, bullied and tormented by her schools mates– who used to make snorting sounds to tease her.   By the age of 13, Lisa Ann Coleman was using marijuana, ecstasy and cocaine; held captive, and broken without a moral compass. Lisa never completed high school and dropped out in the tenth grade.

It is even reported that Lisa Ann Coleman was bi-polar. Bi polar is a mental illness, it is a borderline personality disorder. With all this in view, the state has decided to execute Lisa Ann Coleman. My question is : “What sense does it make since to kill someone who comes from this kind of bondage? Who says that a life for a life is justice? What ever happened to the Satanic devises that  shaped and molded her life and values? How is it that the cursed are expected  not to curse? As far as I can  see , there is a cycle of abuse here, Are not the signs of a curse  obvious to you?

Timeline_Cover_doNotRename77

The bible says in Psalm 11 v 3 says If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? Spurgeon( a bible scholar) makes it plain. We are to reason decisively. He tells us that we are to assert all our trust in Jehovah God (which is what Lisa Ann Coleman has done) or else we will be flying like a frightened bird to the mountain whenever danger comes upon us. Here is the exact quote: “He will use such plausible logic, that unless we once for all assert our immovable trust in Jehovah, he will make us like the timid bird which flies to the mountain whenever danger presents itself.” (Spurgeon)Right now, Lisa Ann Coleman is leaning on the Lord and trusting in her new legal team to navigate the battle for her life and do extraordinary things, supernatural things before her execution date. When God is at the helm, nothing is impossible.

Timeline_Cover_doNotRename53

The Bible says this– and I am applying it to the death row process; “What I tell you in darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in your ear proclaim on the housetops. Do not fear those that kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him that can kill both the body and the soul in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a cent? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father.: Matthew 10 v 27-29. I believe that Lisa Ann Coleman will be victorious irrespective of the outcome. Yes, as a intercessor, I will continue to be on the wall on her behalf. My church will cry out and call on the Lord to extend mercy. Our prayer is “Lord hem me in  both behind and before and create within me cleanness and wholeness of heart that I may be Your servant to stand in the Gap for Lisa Ann Coleman and for the other women on death row.”  We believe that when we pray, God does the impossible in situations in ways that we can never imagine. As intercessors, we are to cover the persons and situations in prayer: it is God’s job to convict and heal. The word of God says that He sought for someone to stand in the gap. Ezekiel 22 v 30 says “And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none;”  and thus we are standing.

captives

We are standing on faith that God will take control of this situation and every other regarding the women on death row, not only are we are praying without ceasing ; we have embraced Isaiah 62 v 6-7  which says ” I have set watchman on your walls,  O Jerusalem who shall never hold their peace day or night. You will make mention of the Lord, do not keep silent and give Him, no rest till He establishes and till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.” Isaiah 62- 6-7. God hates injustice, “To crush underfoot all the prisoners of the earth, to deny a man justice in the presence of the Most High, to subvert a man in his lawsuit, the Lord does not approve”. Lamentations 3 v 34-35. It is our belief that God is definitely going to make changes on death row in 2014

Some of us may have the mistaken notion think that our sins are bigger than God’s grace and His blood, but the bibles says “But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more, so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”( Romans 5:20–21) The letters I have received from Lisa indicates that she has repented and embraced Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. The Lord is the Bishop of Lisa Ann Coleman’s soul. He is the Advocate with the Father, we trusting that in the end, in the allocation of time, that God will accomplish His will.

flick

It is Isaiah 49v 25 that says, ” But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children.” The good news is that if  Lisa Ann Coleman  has sincerely repented she been redeemed, even the generational curse upon her life will have been canceled by the blood of Jesus. Once you become a child of God, no longer will the sins of your forefathers cause curses to transfer into your life: (read) Jeremiah 31:29-30 Hallelujah! “Christ was made a curse, so we can be freed from the curses that sin (both our sins and those of our forefathers) has brought us. Galatians 3:13, “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:”

We stand in need of  evangelistic  materials to support the ministry of  salvation based correspondence to women on death row. Presently, it would be helpful for us to obtain christian tracts, bibles, scripture cards, stationary, envelopes and stamps needed to communicate with these women on a bi month basis. In addition, we would like to spread the word through advertizing and create community and global awareness about the plight of the women on death row while educating the public about how to lobby against proponents of the death penalty. Advocating  by creating awareness  through workshops and media is one of our goals. In addition, we intend to plan for and sponsoring intercessory prayer gatherings and to participate in conferences and other events geared to compelling others to champion the redemption and salvation women on death row.

The Mind of Christ and Women on Death Row

1 Corinthians 2:16

For WHO HAS KNOWN THE MIND OF THE LORD, THAT HE WILL INSTRUCT HIM? But we have the mind of Christ.”

MindofChrist

The U.S. Supreme Court had re instituted the death penalty in July of 1976 after having struck down all state death penalty statutes almost exactly four years earlier. After so much wishy-washyness, and inconsistencies state by state, I am seeing that attitudes are changing toward repealing the death penalty throughout the U.S. For example, in Washington, the Governor has called a moratorium and several states have defacto moratoriums due to challenges to the lethal injection process. Several of these states claim they cannot find sources for the drugs and others have appeals court regulations that are being reviewed. Whatever, the state positions are, I see inequities in the system of deciding who gets to live and who dies. Intellectually speaking, in my opinion the process of deciding who dies and when should be scrutinized. It is not morally rational nor sound for former California governors to to collaborate to initiate a bill to facilitate a quicker appeals process for those on death row. Who are they to be conspiring to advocate quick appeal processes when many times people on death row get exonerated after spending many years imprisoned.

This year 2014 the Lord mandated intercession for the women on death row. What I know is…We don’t have to understand the mind of Christ, because the bible says that God’s way are not our ways and his thoughts are not our thoughts. A God example of this is King David, after committing adultery and murdering one of his “mighty men” became a man after God’s heart. When I intercede for the women on death row I don’t try to judge or take any position about the crimes they supposedly committed, I  seek to promote soul salvation through scripture cards and prayers and when i write them, I do so through the lens of Jesus who came to set every captive free. I stand in my position as an intercessor. An intercessor is an advocate. They are to represent another or plead the cause of another. Scripture tells us that both the Holy Spirit and Jesus are intercessors. They petition the Father on our behalf so that His life and will can be accomplished through us and in us. An intercessor stands before God for those that are lost or for an unholy situation to request God’s intervention and the working out of his will. The activity of intercession involves confronting forces of darkness to enforce victory from Calvary, pleading for another before the throne of God. The role of an intercessor and the action of intercession MUST be combined with a praying church.

Today I am excited about a the victory won by Michelle Byrom a women on Mississippi’s death row. The Supreme court decision to executed has been  reprieved. I believe this is confirmation of hat God said he was going to do for the women on death row when he commissioned me to start praying. The Lord said that He would champion the cause of women on death row in 2014 and I believe this is just one example of what He is about to do.

.michelle-byrom

When we are interceding we must remember that God has the answer to everything, no matter how big or how small. Because of this we can pray from heavens perspective. We are not beggars trying to get God to do something. We are His children and we have access to everything He has. So when we ask Him about situations and people, He shows us things. We can then partner with heaven for breakthroughs on behalf of others.

Generated Curses that Carry over

rock

Exodus 34:6-7 (NIV) And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, “The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children and their children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation.”

Just like physical buildings, the totality of our lives and destinies is being built day by day by our actions and inaction and also by the actions and inaction of those who have generated you. Wisdom requires therefore that we pay great attention to the foundations upon which we build our lives and destinies, especially what transitions from one generation to the next—because there is a carryover

oil

Kings 4 v 1-7 Provides us with a POWERFUL  story about the wife of a dead Prophet who tells Prophet Elisha that her two sons will be taken as bond servants to satisfy a debt that her dead husband owed. Think about this —Here is a case where the children of the debtor would be required to be slaves to pay the price for something they had no knowledge of and had no responsible for— they needed a miracle. (read the story of the widow’s oil below).

This is the case for many of the women on death row. Many have inherited a faulty foundation from those who have generated them and stand in need of a prophetic miracle.  There may be forces at work in there lives that have their origins in previous generations. The bible says If the foundation is destroyed what can the righteous do? If the foundation of the life of a man is faulty, it is unlikely that he would live a fulfilled life let alone finding and fulfilling the purpose of God.

I pray right now that God sends a miracle to the foundation of every woman on death row. Many have been systematically victimized and suffer from a lifetime of molestation, incest, sexual abuse and domestic violence. Several have been slaves victims of people who dominated them and cause them to commit crimes. I am praying that every generated cursed carried over through blood lines, family curses and abuse be cancelled now in the name of Jesus. I am praying for  Elisha’s to rise up to come  to their aid. I pray for a prophetic miracle and an end to the death penalty in the mighty name of Jesus.

elisha-helps-a-widow1

2 Kings 4 : 1-7

The wife of a man from the company of the prophets cried out to Elisha, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that he revered the Lord. But now his creditor is coming to take my two boys as his slaves.”Elisha replied to her, “How can I help you? Tell me, what do you have in your house?” “Your servant has nothing there at all,” she said, “except a small jar of olive oil.”Elisha said, “Go around and ask all your neighbors for empty jars. Don’t ask for just a few. Then go inside and shut the door behind you and your sons. Pour oil into all the jars, and as each is filled, put it to one side.”She left him and shut the door behind her and her sons. They brought the jars to her and she kept pouring. When all the jars were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another one.”But he replied, “There is not a jar left.” Then the oil stopped flowing. She went and told the man of God, and he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debts. You and your sons can live on what is left.”

In the prior post, I shared another scripture about feet. It is also a beautiful scripture:Romans 10 v. 15: “And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”

Its amazing how the Lord says that feet are beautiful. He could have said the hands, or heart or the mind of the person is beautiful but He specifically said the feet. Why? because, it takes the feet to go out and share the good news of the gospel. When I was just coming to Christ, I wasn’t very bold, so I would look for unique novelty pens and pay to have scriptures customized on them. Then I’d visit restaurants and distribute them. But now, that I have matured in my walk with Christ;  He has given me so many beautiful assignment. The assignment that I am engaging in right now is a good example: writing to the women on death row. Oh Lord, I want to thank you for allowing me to become a soul winner for you. In Proverbs 11 verse 30, it says that “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.”

Very few believers today are soul winners. They think its the job of the Evangelist, so when they are in the doctors office, on the grocery store line, at the bus stop or even on an air plane, they fail to share the Good News with others.  Trust me; they are not opening up their mouths to bring about the salvation of the lost. God gives us many opportunities to share the gospel. How many times has someone come to you to tell you about some problem or difficulty they have encountered? How many times have you used their situations to share that the resolution to what they are experiencing lies in the risen Christ? The believer who fails to share the Gospel with others is foolish. Hell is real, life is short, and   we are vapors. Don’t you know that  people need to be born-again to escape the wrath of God? (John 3:36; Romans 5:9; 2nd Thessalonian 1:8-9). You may have thought we were saved from sin but Paul says we are saved from wrath. (Remember, this is not God’s wrath towards sinners, but his wrath towards ungodliness and unrighteousness and those things which keep us from him.) Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! (Rom 5:9)

The bible gives us a parable that describes the believer as being the salt of the earth,  it says that “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for nothing except to be but to be cast out, and to be trodden under the foot of men. What an analogy; we are flavoring, enhancing and preserving life. The question is asked, “What good is salt if it has lost its flavor?” What happened to the passion, the fervor, the fire that was burning in your bones when you first believed? I t needs to be reignited because without it you will not be a threat to the devils kingdom.

As I reflect on the biblical notion of feet, I think of the sinful woman who washed the feet of Jesus with expensive anointing oils, tears and her hair. She didn’t know it but it was to prepare him for his crucifixion. The outcome was, she was forgiven of her sins. Notable too is the humility of Jesus; he washed the feet of  the disciples before he went to the cross. Both activities involved the washing of feet, and invoke the feeling that feet are uniquely special.  I am decreeing and declaring a spiritual foot washing for those who are not sharing the gospel. Truth be told, if you are not sharing the gospel you couldn’t possibly be opening your bible. I am praying for a revival in your soul;one that regenerates you and propels you to witness, one that compels you to keep your saltiness, because if you are not soul winning, you are  spiritually dead and already on death row.
